This morning I decided to ride my motorbike to work which I like to do when it’s not wet or too cold. On the way here I realised it’s the 5th of October which is a day worth remembering, special enough to write about it. I don’t celebrate it with cakes or drinks but I occasionally remember about it and it gives me pleasure. On the 5th of October 1982 I officially became a biker when I bought my first motorcycle: a Honda XL 125.
I remember picking it up from the dealer after school and riding for a few miles around town. It was a cold and foggy day and by the time I arrived at my destination a few minutes later I was completely wet by the moisture in the air. Since then I changed bike just 3 times and I am now riding my Honda Varadero 1000cc which I have since 2001. Living in UK where the weather is way more rainy than Italy doesn’t encourage riding the bike as much but every time I do I realise how much pleasure it gives me even when going for a short distance.
